DILLON HODGES
Dillon Hodges translates old-time music to a new audience with his soulful
voice and haunting melodies. Growing up near Muscle Shoals, Alabama, he
began shaping his sound by immersing himself in bluegrass and traditional
music. Considering his age, the music on commercial radio of the time, and the
historical significance of soul music in the area, his musical style was unique
to say the least. Hodges grew up refining his guitar skills by competing in flat-
picking competitions, winning fourteen total in just four years.
As the artist evolved his playing style he started incorporating his songwriting
skills to create a mix of traditional music infused into more modern songwriting
styles. This combination creates a unique style of Americana that crosses
mainstream at times. The wide crossover appeal of Hodges’ music has been
proven as he has shared the stage with artist ranging from old-time legend
Ralph Stanley to the hushed harmonies with The Civil Wars, and more amped
Americana with Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit. Dillon’s master playing abilities add
depth to his recordings and unforgettable energy to his live performances.
