The Detroit Cobras emerged from the garage rock revival scene of the late 1990’s ~ early 2000’s, which included the Dirtbombs, White Stripes, Hentchmen and many many more.

The music is mostly composed of obscure 1960’s R&B, soul, girl groups’ songs, delivered with an injection of natural raw garage punk rock & roll.

After the sudden death of lead singer Rachel Nagy, the band was devastated.
Following the city of Detroit’s motto ~ “We hope for better things; it shall rise
from the ashes “, the band regrouped and got to working.

Leading the group is the evocative temptress Masha Marjieh, followed by the usual unusual cast of characters: Mary Cobra and Kenny Tudrick on guitars. Dale Wilson and Kevin Irwin on bass and drums respectively.
