THE ZEPPELIN JAZZ PROJECT
Like thieves in a pawnshop, The Zeppelin Jazz Project wants to steal their blues rig back. The Jazz Zeppelin Project stirs blues roots, contemporary jazz and fusion with Zeppelin’s legacy into a mash of urban music.
Like a musical tow truck, ZJP takes what is owed. It is a new approach to the songs that originally inspired it’s members to explore progressive music at a very young age. Instrumental versions of Led Zeppelin tunes utilizing the beauty of odd time signatures and alternate chord changes is a glimpse of what can be expected.
Founding drummer Brian Abraham puts together trio, quartet and quintet versions of The Zeppelin Jazz Project featuring Pete Carney on saxophones, Zoey Szmulewitz on guitar, Vijay Tellis-Nayak on keyboards and Curt Bley on electric bass.
