With a deep love and appreciation for the music of System of a Down, Peephole was formed in Chicago in 2017 after getting the opportunity to play the music of SOAD live at a Halloween show. Born out of lead singer Jamie’s original band, Electric Villain, Peephole played their first gig at the famous Beat Kitchen. They and the fans had such a great time that they decided to continue onward as a tribute band, bringing the very best of SOAD to people all around the midwest. At that time, they never could have predicted that they’d reach fans from all over the world. Even still, the band feels like they’re just getting started.
Peephole’s fanbase has steadily grown over the years thanks to their incredible fans and friends in the Chicago music scene, as well as unique variations of SOAD shows. For example, Peephole once performed alongside their friends in the band White Pony (Deftones tribute) in Chicago, each band performing an album in full. Peephole performed SOAD’s acclaimed self-titled first album, while White Pony played White Pony.
In 2024, Peephole completed the “Toxic Weekend Tour”, performing the album Toxicity in its entirety three nights in a row between Chicago, Rockford, and Rock Island, IL.
