Senite is a first-generation Eritrean American singer, songwriter, and musician born and raised in Uptown, Chicago. She began her musical journey at just three years old through the People’s Music School, where her early training led her to perform alongside The Roots, Umphrey’s McGee, Third Coast Percussion, Dee Alexander, and Smashing Pumpkins. Over the years, she has grown into a powerful live performer, gracing stages such as All State Arena, Metro Chicago, Lincoln Hall, Thalia Hall, Evanston Space, Sleeping Village, and more.
Her dynamic presence has led her to share concert lineups with acclaimed artists including Mereba, Saba, Ravyn Lenae, Tobi Lou, Noga Erez, Jamila Woods, KAINA, TheMind, and more. With her genre-blending sound rooted in R&B, acoustic soul, and hip-hop influences, Senite creates performances that are intimate yet expansive, carrying both raw emotion and a deep sense of community.
Her breakout came with the viral success of Medicated on TikTok, propelling her into the spotlight as one of Chicago’s most exciting independent artists. Since then, she has released three EPs and collaborated with Rockie Fresh, Kaicrewsade, Ausar, Jay Wood, SONNY, GoldHaze, SuperstarrKAMI, Kayo, Matt Muse, and others. After a pause from solo releases to focus on community building, Senite now returns with her comeback single Getting Older, marking a new chapter of artistry, growth, and reflection.
