Boomwagon is an original rock trio based in Flossmoor, IL. Their sound officially falls within the broad ‘indie rock’ sub-genre, having garnered independent label interest with the release of Mat’s (vocals, bass, principal song writer) ‘Consolation’ record release. Creative and dynamic, Boomwagon has built their fan base on equal doses of rock power, pretty harmonies, suss chords, and self-deprecating humor.
Mat (vocals, bass) is a writer, player, recordist, engineer, and progressive. Steve (guitar, vocals) is a rock music addict and refugee of Chicago bands White Paste, The Murkins, Sylvia Said, Wad, Jake & The Wranglers, and Consolation. Jim (drums), much more than a trusted time-keeper and fill-generator, uses his skill-drill training as hockey goalie and martial artist to exact the most felicitous timbre from the stroke of each cymbal. In the words of music critic Hester Bings, “The confluence of these fine fellows makes for an entertaining excursion across the lively ocean of rock goodness!”
