(December 4th, 2013 Chicago, IL) – Before Bad Brains, the Sex Pistols, or even The Ramones, there was a band called Death. Punk before punk existed, three teenage brothers in the early 70’s formed a punk band in their spare bedroom during the era of Motown and Disco. Playing music impossibly ahead of its time, Death is now receiving their long over due recognition as true rock pioneers. Death will be bringing their iconic sound to Reggies Rock Club, located at 2105 S. State Street, Chicago, IL 60616, on December 31st, 2013. Prior to Death’s set on the 31st, Reggie’s will also be screening the band’s documentary “A Band Called Death” on Friday, December 20th at 7:00 pm in the Music Joint. Reggies has also paired up with Graffiti Zone, an after school arts program for underserved youth. Graffiti Zone creates a safe environment in which kids can connect with themselves and their community through arts and art promotion. Anyone who brings in Art Supplies for the organization on the 20th will receive a raffle ticket to win VIP tickets and a signed poster for the Death New Years Eve show. The documentary screening provides a window into the world of the 1970’s rock band, and their newfound popularity decades after the group recorded their music. Readers are invited to join Reggies on December 20th and December 31st to show their support to the music, and their community.
